How Continuous Discovery shaped the design of a New Altinn Inbox
It's 2025, and some part of Norway's public sector is trying to get hold of you.
It could be a message asking you to review your taxes. Perhaps it's just a confirmation that you’ve read your marriage license. Or is it a notice about a missed deadline? Whatever it might be, you'll be logging in to your Altinn inbox to read it.
Altinn is a service provided by Digdir, the Norwegian Digitalization Agency. A key success factor for the service is that people checking their inbox instantly understand which messages are urgent, which are new, and that they quickly grasp what they need to do after receiving a message there.
In this talk, you'll learn how the Altinn team introduced habits of continuous discovery while developing the new Altinn inbox.
Get insights into their research activities, how they mapped the opportunity space, built their opportunity-solution tree, and how the team designed and conducted experiments.
Changing one's discovery habits isn’t easy. This team counted many failures along the way, each providing useful takeaways. You'll hear about what did not work, what did, and how they kept on moving in the right direction.
